William C. Roettger

Janesville-William “Bill” Clarence Roettger, age 58, passed away at home Friday, July 20, 2007. He was born September 17, 1948 in Freeport, IL to Clarence and Roberta (Brown) Roettger. Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971 before working for Orkin, Coca – Cola, and was also a volunteer firefighter in Loves Park, IL. He worked at A & B Freight Line in Rockford from 1977 until retiring in 2005. Bill married Michelle Finco-Nicks January 4, 1999. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. He was a member of South Central Wisconsin Janesville Chapter Harley Owners Group. Bill is survived by his wife Michelle of Janesville, WI; son Brian (Julia) Linebeck of Greenville, TN; step-son Thomas (Autumn) Merrill of Joliet, IL; daughters, Shanda (Joshua) Richardson of Beloit, WI; Jennifer (Mark) Mitchell of Machesney Park, IL; Brooke Roettger of Janesville, WI; their mother JoAnna Cremeens of Roscoe, IL; step-children Shane Lund (Mandi Jackson) of Janesville, WI; Christopher (Kandi) Lund of Edgerton, WI; Aubrey Lund, Caleb and Corey Nicks all of Janesville, WI; He is further survived by 13 grandchildren, Devon and Brennan Merrill, Kaila, Alison, Austin, Katie, Emily, and Nathan Richardson, Stephanie and Kane Mitchell, Jasmine Roettger-Kanarowski, Logan Hein and Drew Lund, sisters Barbara Huling and Joan Gadow, in- laws Viola Roettger, Donald Sterbenz, Bill and Deena Wettstein, Doug and Tami Finco, Daren and Cindy Finco, mother and father in law Jackie and Jerry Jones, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard and Donald Roettger, sisters Connie Mae and Margaret Sterbenz. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at All Faiths Funeral Chapel 1618 E. Racine St. Janesville.
