Warney L. Pickering

Warney Pickering, age 94, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 7th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Eugene and Ena, as well as his brother Gene, his sister Sandra (Brown), and his wife Harriet. Warney is survived by his 5 children: Todd (Susan), Trudy (Robert Likes), Terri (John Janke), Trent (Elise), Tricia (Paul Traxler), as well as 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

He graduated from UW Madison and served in the Army and the Air Force. He worked for the Dept. of Agriculture and was an economist for Oscar Mayer. He managed and worked at several Bible Camps and owned several ServiceMaster franchises.

Warney loved to learn and loved to read. Wherever he went he had a book in his hand “just in case”. If he wasn’t working and if he wasn’t reading, he was probably “thinking with his eyes closed.” He loved to help others. By his example he taught us to work hard and always do our best. His favorite verse was Matthew 6:10 and his favorite song was “Thank You Lord for Saving My Soul”.

His adoring family will be holding a memorial service at FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH on Lucerne Ave in Janesville, WI on Sat. March 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. All Faiths Funeral Home of Janesville is assisting the family. On-line condolences may be made at www.866allfaiths.com.
