Virginia L. Kampa, age 84 formerly of Eau Claire, passed away Friday, January 4, 2008 at American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. She was born July 4, 1923 in Eau Claire, WI to Harold and Eva (nee Hurtley) Black and was raised in the Town of Seymour. She graduated from the former Eau Claire Teachers College and taught elementary school for a time. During her marriage to Paul Kampa, an Air Force mechanic, she lived in Idaho, California, Texas, Germany, Alaska and Illinois. Virginia returned to Eau Claire in the early 1960s and went to work for Memorex/Unisys until her retirement. Virginia is survived by a sister-in-law: Janice Black; twelve nieces and nephews: Janet Black, Judy (Tom) Gibson, Donald Black, Dennis Black, Charles (Mindy) Black, John Black, Terri (Mike Schultz) Black, Cindy (Brian) Storberg, Vicki (Steve) Wagner, Kris (Mike) Miller, Betsy (Jon) Fisher and Jana (Gregg) Perry. Further survivied by other relatives and friends. She is preceded by her parents; two brothers: Charles and Roy Black and a nephew: David Black. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 3:00 PM at All Faiths Funeral & Cremation Service, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire. Private interment will be held in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
