Trenton G. Holte

SUN PRAIRIE/MADISON Trenton G. Holte, age 88, of Sun Prairie, and formerly of Madison, passed away on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016. He was born in Westby, Wis., on April 21, 1928, the son of Alf and Elvena (Kirking) Holte. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II. He married Velma Mae Baker on April 3, 1947 in Key West, Fla., and together they had eight children. He retired from Ruan Transport after 38 years of service. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, which was second only to his family. He often served as usher and volunteered for various church activities. He is survived by six children, Terry (Pamela) Holte of Marshall, Cathy (Bruce Fisher) Holte of Madison, Candace (Mike) DiMaggio of DeForest, Jon Scott Holte of Madison, Julie (Geoff) Snyder of Madison and Tammy (Tracy) Daubenspeck of Charlotte, N.C.; a son-in-law, Richard Breitzke of Iola, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Archie, Harlan and Alan Holte; two sisters, Elaine Kirby and Joyce Langman; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a daughter, Sharon Breitzke; a son, Ricky Holte; a brother, Orvis Holte; and a sister, Elverta Betthauser. Funeral services will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago St., Madison on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Susan Schneider officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Madison. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
