Torrence Rapacz

MADISON – Torrence “Torry” Lee Rapacz, was born on March 31, 1975 in Madison and passed away at his home on July 23, 2008. Torry was blessed to have his family and friends with him who loved and supported him throughout his life. His disability of Duchene Muscular Dystrophy required the need of many dedicated and compassionate people, they provided Torry the opportunity to live a full life in his own home and community! A very big thank you to his physician, Dr. David Okada, who provided his care with compassion and professionalism. Thank you also for his wonderful nursing staff, Wisconsin Partnerships, CLA, WORC, Inc., Msgr. Michael Burke and Sister Marge Kalina, the Estervig Family and the many people who provided him daily care. Torry truly enriched the lives of everyone lucky enough to be part of his world. The lessons learned and laughs shared will never be forgotten by those who love him. Torry helped others in our community by volunteering at the United Way Volunteer Center for 3 years, he also attended MATC, and was employed by LaserNet in Waunakee for 3 years. He traveled to Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and Florida with the help of many friends! Torry’s family included his mother and stepfather, Nancy and Ron Solem; father and stepmother, Dallas and Ellie Rapacz; sisters, Tracy (Dave) Peth and Amanda (Luke Natvig) Coleman; paternal grandmother, Adeline Klitzke. Also very special nieces, Paige and Kendal, and nephews, Joey and Rhyan; special friends, Janet Estervig and Burlie Williams; and his care support team that included many wonderful nurses, social workers, health care providers, counselors, and case manager’s, Pam and Clark Bennet. Torry’s family also included many aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends that enhanced his life. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Herbert Faivre, who passed away 10 days prior to Torry; grandmother, Doris Faivre; and cousin, Todd Podach. Thank you all for every visit, personal cares given, gifts, travels, events attended, telephone calls, funding for services and birthday parties!!! Torry loved each and every one of you! Services will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Avenue, on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Michael Burke officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
