Timothy J. Claflin

SUN PRAIRIE – Timothy J. Claflin, age 47 of Sun Prairie, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison with his family by his side. He was born March 18, 1960 in Green Bay, the son of Dave and Sue (Erickson) Claflin. Following Tim’s graduation from Waukesha South High School in 1978, he moved to the Madison area where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a life long sports nut, professional, college and high school. Tim was an avid fisherman, who also loved to golf and deer hunt. He enjoyed reading, and many times had more sports statistics than you could imagine. Tim was quick witted and loved to tease, especially his little sister, Jayne. Tim is survived by his parents, Dave and Sue Claflin, of Tomahawk; two sisters, Anne (Doug) Gruenewald, of Ames, Iowa, and Jayne Claflin, of Waukesha; a brother, Bill Claflin of Bloomington, Minn.; three nieces, Jessica and Megan Claflin, and Johanna Gruenewald; longtime friend, Gloria Nelson; his AFS Exchange Brother, Bryan Bench, of South Africa; his beloved dog, Abby; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles. A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at the ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Road, Madison, on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Scott Carlson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to honor Tim. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
