MADISON – Thomas J. Forsythe, Jr., age 60 of Madison, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 at St. Marys Hospital following a short illness. He was born Nov. 19, 1948 in Salina, Kansas, the son of Thomas and Dorothy (Austin) Forsythe. Following graduation from Madison LaFollette High School, Tom enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Enterprise during the Vietnam War. Tom enjoyed bass fishing, hunting, bowling watching NASCAR, especially #24 Jeff Gordon, and the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by a son, Thomas J. Forsythe, III; a daughter, Angela (Terrance) Condon; three sisters, Judy (Loren) Schwoch, of Eau Claire, Dottie (Alan) Lagerberg, of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Linda (Mike Roth) Benkowski, of Madison; a sister-in-law, Donna Forsythe, of Cottage Grove; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Hilda (Funseth) Forsythe; his best friend and brother, Wayne; nephews, Shawn Benkowski and Tim Lagerberg and his fiancée, Leslie, and their son. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Rd., Madison on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
