Thomas F. Gilbert

Rockton – Thomas F. Gilbert, age 71, formerly of Janesville, passed away July 21, 2020 at Agrace Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.  He was born August 13, 1948 in Janesville, Wisconsin to Wilbur and Catherine (Strampe) Gilbert.  Tom married Mary Huschka on February 10, 1968 in Rockford, Illinois.  They were blessed with 5 children. Tom loved listening to oldies music, especially from the 50’s and 60’s.  He was a diehard Cubs fan.  Tom worked as a cheese maker for 42 years for Dean Foods, first in Janesville and then in Rockford. Tom is survived by his wife, Mary; his 5 children: Lisa (Jim), Tommy (Trisha), Julie (Will), Kristin (Roy) and Jon (Stephanie).  As well as his grandchildren: Allie, Ashley, Frankie, Jake, Presley, London, Kaylee and many special nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his brother, Richard (Carol). Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers and sisters: Ilene, John, Marilyn, Shirley, Vonda and Kathy. Per Tom’s wishes no formal services will be held.  The family is being assisted by All Faiths Funeral Home, Janesville, Wisconsin.  A big Thank You to Tom’s brother-in-law, James Mitchell for his support and care of Tom and his family.
