Sylvia I. Sommerfeldt

Sylvia Ilene Sommerfeldt (Spielmacher), age 85, loving mother and loyal wife passed away to be with Jesus on July 2, 2024, after a long battle with dementia.

Sylvia was born on August 7, 1938, in Beloit, Wisconsin. She married James “Jim” Dale Sommerfeldt on July 18, 1957. Jim passed away on July 21, 2021. He was 87 years old. They celebrated their last wedding anniversary of 64 years together before his passing.

Sylvia is survived by her four children, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren: Debbie Brown, JB (Jody) Sommerfeldt, Tracy (David) Sagredo and Dana Sommerfeldt, Elise (Ryan) Schafer, Salina (Shaun) Lane, James Ramos and Zachary Rivera.

Sylvia was a chef at the headquarters of Newell Brands located in Beloit, Wisconsin for many years. She also volunteered her cooking skills at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Janesville. She loved our pet poodle Muffy, playing bridge, square dancing, hosting dinners and holidays, going antiquing, camping, boating, gardening, sewing and reading every cookbook ever written.

At her request, no services will be held.

Sylvia will be deeply missed by family and friends. Love you Mom! Rest in peace.
