COTTAGE GROVE - Stuart Rittenhouse, age 57, of Cottage Grove, Wis., lost his hard fought and courageous battle with cancer on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, Wis. He was born on March 9, 1964, in Sheboygan, Wis., the son of Douglas and Mary Lou Rittenhouse. He was united in marriage to Michele Wopat on October 18, 1997, in Fitchburg, Wis. He graduated in 1982 from Madison West High School. He worked for 16 years at Werner Electric in Madison, Wis., and was also employed part-time at ITU Absorb Tech for over 14 years. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and a dog lover. He is survived by his loving wife, Michele; stepdaughter, Ashley (Calvin) Wendt; grandson, Colton Wendt; and his four brothers, Jim (Debbie) Rittenhouse, Daryl (Kris) Rittenhouse, Robert Rittenhouse, and Roger Rittenhouse. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Rittenhouse; and his parents, Douglas and Mary Lou Rittenhouse. His burial and a short service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Dr., Monona, on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at 1 p.m. A celebration of life will also be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or to ASPCA in honor of his love of dogs.
