Steven H. Hamm

MIDDLETON – Steven H. Hamm, age 59, died on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at his home. Steve was born Nov. 5, 1948 in Madison, the son of Henry and Dorothy (Lambert) Hamm. Steve is survived by his sons, Steven R. and Joseph R. Hamm, both of New York City, and their mother, Monica Hamm of Middleton. He is further survived by his brothers John Pope and Jim Pope of Madison, and their families. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Pope. Steve was a builder and an inventor. He loved a challenge. Steve’s favorite saying was, “the difficult takes time, the impossible awhile longer.” He was a problem solver and the “go to guy” for many. On occasions, to numerous to mention, Steve lead the way for family and friends during their times of crisis. Steve’s love for his sons Steve and Joe was unequalled. He delighted in their accomplishments as musicians and always encouraged them to follow their dreams. Steve was loved by many who are saddened by the loss of this good man, who was taken from us to early. In honor of Steve’s request, there will be no services. “Old Sailors never die, they just sail away.”
