Silvia Rodriguez

JANESVILLE Silvia Rodriguez, 90, of Janesville passed away on October 23, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Nursing home in Janesville. The oldest of 4 children, Silvia was born on August 30, 1927 to Albino and Fermina (Gonzalez) Rodriguez in Havana, Cuba. She came to the United States in 1967 and lived in New York, where her daughter was born. Silvia lived in Chicago, where she was employed as a case worker for the State of Illinois, and then Argentina, where she retired. She finally settled in Janesville to be close to her daughter and her daughters family. She was well traveled, having been to many places including China, France, the Czech Republic and Spain. Silvia always valued education and graduated with an Accountancy Degree and later achieved her Doctorate in Political Science. Silvia leaves behind her daughter, Pamela (Jeffrey) Frost and grandchildren, Ian and Marshall all of Janesville; her nieces, Perfecta Baffer of Washington D.C. and Maria Naranjo of Chicago, IL, and their children. She was preceded by her parents and 3 siblings. A Memorial Service will be held at 9:15 am on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home, 109 S. Atwood, Janesville, WI. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with Silvias final arrangements.
