COTTAGE GROVE - Sharon Marie Frost, age 76, passed away at the Agrace HospiceCare Center on May 5 , 2015 at 8:22 a.m. with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Sharon was born to Richard Dick and Marjorie (Smith) Frost on October 28, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Arthur Hill High school in Saginaw, Michigan in 1957. Sharon modeled for Jacobsens Department Store after high school and was second runner up in The Miss Saginaw Beauty Pageant. People often commented as to her beauty and said she would surely be the next Miss Universe. Sharon went on to become married and to have and raise three sons as well as two daughters. Some of Sharons jobs and interests throughout her life involved sales and management at Monona Bootery, cooking for Sun Prairies School Lunch Program, and managing Goodwills first store in Madison. Sharon also ran her own cleaning and nanny business for several families within the Madison and surrounding areas. Some of Sharons hobbies included painting, sewing, quilting and reading. She enjoyed cooking and baking as well. Her daughter Marjorie can be quoted as saying It was a treat to have boxed Macaroni and Cheese! Home cooked meals were a staple within the home and the baking could be smelled outside as one got closer to the house. She also enjoyed her social life prior to her illnesses progression. Sharon was also involved in Girl Scouts where she acted as a Den Mother for her daughter Marjories Girl Scout Troop. Some of the highlights of Sharons life was when each of her grandchildren were born, spread throughout the years, bringing great joy and pride into her life. Sharon loved to dance and enjoyed her music. Later in years Sharon enjoyed going out for a nice lunch or dinner with family or sharing a table with friends. She also found great entertainment within her new cable t.v. and watching the shows Two and a Half Men as well as The Sopranos faithfully. Sharon was raised within the Methodist Faith, embracing the Lutheran Religion later on in life and accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior. Survivors include her children, Michael (Beverly) Gehrke of Madison, Gene Richard Rich (Jill) Gehrke of Jefferson City, MO., Jeffrey (Corrine) Gehrke of Branson, Mo., and Marjorie (John) Moldrem of Sun Prairie; a sister, Judy (Kenneth) Lindsay of Greensboro, NC.; her half-sister, Sally (Jim) Frost-Peckham, Traverse City, MI.; her grandchildren, Ryan (Heather) Gehrke including great-granddaughter, Kinley, Sherri (Brant) White including great-grandchildren, Kenneth (Mikayla) Edwards, Trynity Scott, and Kross Scott and including great-great grandchildren, Izabella, Kaeden and Taeya; granddaughters, Andi Gehrke and Morgan Gehrke; grandson, Aaron (Kelsey Kalk) Moldrem and granddaughter Shayne (Dylan Trumpy) Moldrem; grandson, Jared, IN., David and Sharon Gehrke, Branson MO.; nephew, Kenneth (Carla) Lindsay; niece, Christine Lerner (great-nieces, Allie and Mia). Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie Frost and Richard Dick Frost; her daughter, Marci Gehrke; granddaughter, Jessica Lee Moldrem (John and Marjorie); Sherri Whites late husband, CW2 Joshua Scott, United States Army. Thank you to the staff at Aster Assisted Living for their patience, care and compassion while Sharon resided there. Thank you to each of the staff at Agrace HospiceCare that traveled with Mom and us throughout her journey home. Thank you to Dr. Juanita J. Halls M.D., as well as her friend and nurse for so many years, Carol (Mike) Alvin. A special thank you to Dr. Edward J. Kramper, M.D. for each of your home visits, many phone calls, wonderful cares and compassion displayed to Sharon as well as us over the last year plus; you have gone above and beyond. A very special thank you to our dear friend (Marjorie and John) as well as Moms go to gal, Maria Johnson R.N., who walked many, many miles with us when you simply did not have to.
