Janesville-Sharon A. Olson, age 64, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at Mercy Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 13, 1947 in Shawano, WI to Milburn and Genevieve (Zaborski) Laha. She graduated from Seymour High School Class of 1965. Sharon then attended St. Anne’s School of Nursing in Chicago. Following graduation she worked at Methodist Hospital in Madison for ten years. She has been a Registered Nurse on the surgical floor of Mercy Hospital in Janesville for the past 33 years. She married John Olson on December 6, 1969 in Madison, WI. She loved being a nurse and found her job very rewarding, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She especially loved being a grandmother to her five beloved grandchildren. Sharon is survived by her husband of 42 years John N. Olson,of Janesville, WI; her daughters Jody (James) Flynn, of Janesville, WI; Jana (Ben) Smith of Algonquin, IL; siblings Gary (Lek) Laha of Glendale, AZ; Larry (Sue) Laha, of Bonduel, WI; Karen (Mark) Robenalt, of Spanaway, WA; Susan (John) Eggeman, of Merced, CA; Thomas (Colleen) Laha, of Kaukauna, WI; five grandchildren, Benjamin and Emily Kubiak, Annabelle Flynn, Addison and Owen Smith all at home, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at First Lutheran Church in Janesville. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M., At 6:00 P.M there will be a Nurses Tribute and Video Tribute in memory of Sharon on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at All Faiths Funeral Chapel 1618 E. Racine St. Janesville. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 A.M until the time of service at the church on Thursday. Hospital in Madison, and Mercy Hospital in Janesville.
