Sandra R. Borck

January 18, 1947 — November 3, 2023

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Sandy Borck, who peacefully passed away on November 3, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, WI. She bravely endured many years of chronic health issues, but always kept an optimistic attitude and never complained.

Sandy was born on January 18, 1947 in Beloit, WI to her loving parents, Margie and Harold Hendricks. She graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1967 and attended the University of Wisconsin – Rock County. After becoming a foster parent for many children in the Beloit area, she then dedicated her life to helping and assisting the developmentally disabled at several facilities. These include the Goldie Floberg group home in Rockford, IL, working in special education at Mclenegan Elementary School in Beloit, WI and the New Concepts group home and Group Living Home in Janesville, WI. Throughout those decades, she touched so many people with her huge and generous heart, infectious laugh and mischievous spirit.

She was a pillar at her church and was an inspiration to many through her unwavering faith to God and devotion to the service of others. She was also an incredibly loving parent who adored her children and was also a gifted cook who loved to shower everyone with the amazing meals that she would prepare straight from the heart. She will be terribly missed by her children who grew up with nothing but unconditional love and support, and the countless friends and acquaintances who had the blessing to know her.

She was previously married to Sylvester Swatek (1940 – 2010) and Harrison Borck (1939 – 2020). She is survived by her sister Sharon Burk (sp. Charles Burk) of Beloit, WI, her daughter Melodie Gander (sp. Robert Gander) of Reno, NV and her son Craig Swatek of Green Bay, WI. She also leaves behind her cherished lifelong best friend Debbie Pounds, dear friends and caretakers Joa Klopfenstein and Yumi Wolf who were integral in maintaining Sandy’s quality of independent living, nephews Scott Burk and Brady Burk (sp. Sarah Burk) and the members of the Foundation Bible Church in Janesville, WI, in particular Pastor Dan Wolf, Pastor Dave and Judy Wolf and the entire Wolf family. We are indebted to you.

A memorial service will be held on Friday November 10th at 7 PM at the Foundation Bible Church on 1805 Foster Ave., Janesville WI.
