Janesville - Sandra Jean Connell (Hering, Bergh) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, at St. Elizabeth Manor, Footville, Wisconsin, at the age of 73. She was born to Eugene and Louise (Scheit) Hering, in Eau Claire, WI on August 1, 1941. She married Ronald Bergh on August 2, 1958. They had 3 children. She married Riley Connell May 20, 1972 and they moved to Janesville. They had 1 daughter. Sandi helped Riley with his job at Baraboo-Sysco Foods by taking phone orders and making local deliveries while they lived in Janesville. They moved to Jackson, TN, to Sparta, WI, and then to Baraboo, WI, where she worked for Green Thumb and the Senior Center. Sandi returned to Janesville in 2010 to be near her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sandi was an Elvis fanatic and an avid reader who enjoyed fishing and putting on game feeds with the Turtle Lake Sportsmans Club of Delavan. She was very artistic, using those talents to design menus for some of Rileys customers. Sandi is survived by her children, Ron (Nancy) Bergh of East Grand Forks, MN; Vicky (Ken) Wright, Janesville; Cathy Thornton, LaCrosse; Riley John Connell, Eau Claire; Claudine Connell, Las Vegas, NV; her sister, Sharlean (Richard) Johnson, Fall Creek; seven grandchildren, seven great-grand children, and other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by her dear friend of over 60 years, Judy Allen, of Peru, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Riley; and her daughter, Cindy Bergh. A Memorial Service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL HOME, 1618 E. Racine St., Janesville, with visitation prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. The family would like to express their appreciation to St. Elizabeth Manor and Agrace Hospice for the care and compassion given to our mom during the last 17 months.
