CROSS PLAINS - Ryan C. Maki, age 32, of Cross Plains, passed away on May 5, 2011 at his home. He was born on January 23, 1979 in Madison, the son of Cate (Catherine) Maki. Ryan began his career as a butcher at a young age at Dick’s in Mt. Horeb, where he was known as “Rat”. Ryan then worked for U.W. Provisions, and most recently at Terry’s Piggly Wiggly in Cross Plains. He was well liked at each place and had a strong work ethic. Outside of work he loved to be with friends and family, cooking out, listening to music and going to the river. Ryan is survived by his brother Davin (Shelly) Bushey and their girls Darrien and Cole; and Davin’s father Larry and his family. He is further survived by his grandparents, Ronald and Corrinne Maki; aunts and uncles, Deborah Hefty, Dawn (Scott) Wavra, Daniel Maki, Joel Maki, Douglas Maki and Roni Marie Maki. Ryan is also survived by many cousins and close friends, including Paul, James, Dave, Jon, Dick and Annie. Ryan’s beloved dog Tucker will become a member of Davin’s family. Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Cate, in 2007. A memorial gathering will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Rd., Madison, on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a brief service beginning at 6 p.m. Ryan was good natured, loved his family and friends, had a big, kind heart and gave great hugs. We loved him and we will miss him.
