Russell G. Barrows, age 88, passed away on his birthday, June 1, 2006 at Beloit Health and Rehabilitation Center, following a brief illness. Russell was born June 1, 1918 in Harvard Illinois, to Dexter and Myra (Gallup) Barrows. Russell married Helen Lydia Bauman on February 19, 1940. In his lifetime Russell delivered ice, coal, worked for the railroad and worked for Woodstock Die Casting for 35 years before retiring, in 1976. Russell enjoyed fishing, collecting barbed-wire, collecting and refinishing cane, rush, reed, shaker-tape and wicker chairs. He and his family enjoyed a lifetime of camping throughout the United States. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, brothers Dexter and Howard, sister-in-law, Gladys Fisher, parents, Dexter and Myra Barrows and great-granddaughter Hallie Fair and his loving schnauzer Fritz. Russell is survived by children Eugene (Mary) Barrows, Green Bay; Linda Useini, Beloit, Janet (Thomas) Dance, Belvidere; Robert Barrows, Stockton; Donald (Denise) Barrows, Woodstock; and Leonard (Jennifer) Barrows Janesville. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Todd (Janet) Fair, Letitia (Chris) Rask- Barrows, Geoffrey Barrows and one great-grandchild Amanda Fair. The family wishes to thank the Alden-Hebron and Harvard Rescue Squad, Mercy Harvard Hospital ER doctors and nurses, Janesville Mercy Hospital doctors and 4th floor nurses, Paratech Ambulance, Beloit Memorial Hospital ER and 3rd floor nursing staff, Dr. Jones and Beloit Health and Rehab nursing staff. Special thanks to Diane, Vera, Kathy and Scarlett at Beloit Health and Rehab for their love and special care during Dad’s final days and especially to Pastor Ronald Lord. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday June 6, 2006, at Orchard View Alliance Church, with Pastor Ronald Lord officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. with 7:00 P.M video tribute, at All Faiths Funeral Chapel 1618 E. Racine St. Janesville.
