Rosie L. Slater

Mrs. Rosie L. Slater, 82, left this life on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 12:05 a.m. She was born in Crenshaw, Mississippi on July 19, 1932 to Alma Miles and R.V. Jenkins. Rosie married James Slater in Mississippi. She later moved to Chicago where she had several jobs as a cook or bartender. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Rosie leaves behind her one and only child Annie Jenkins; two grandchildren, Willie Jenkins and Rose Jenkins; eight great-grandchildren, Amber, DaiRon, Ashley, Daris, Willie, Alandos, Juanita, and Dai-Von; and 10 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of friends who will miss her dearly including her longtime friend John Endsley. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, David R. Jenkins.
