STOUGHTON - Rose Saldivar Garza, age 77, passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 at University Hospital in Madison, following a brief illness. Rose was born on March 9, 1937 in Montemorelos, Mexico to Franciso Joel Saldivar and Angelina Garza De La Fuente. Rose is survived by several siblings: Hilda, Richard, Sergio, Jorge, Enrique, Adrianna, Eugena and Jamie. She was preceded in death by siblings Paco, Nolo and Rosalia. Rose is also survived by her daughter Toby Ruth Sigle who was involved the last nine years of her life as caregiver, provider, advocate and most of all as her best friend. Rose is also survived by Melissa Pena (Tuzson, Az), Dezarae Pena Leal (San Juan, TX), who she raised as her own since she was three years of age, and three great-grandchildren: Deja (7), Destiny (6), and Manuilito (2). She also leaves behind best friend Marcela Iskander (Atlanta, Ga.) and Melly Ortega Garza who was like a little sister to her and her angel. Rose retired after twenty-five years of working for the State of Wisconsin Equal Rights Division for Labor and Human Relations in Madison, Wisconsin where she also received an outstanding award from the governor for her service to the state. She previously worked as an OSHA inspector as an area coordinator for migrant services. Rose was also a realtor for Century 21 Affiliated in Madison. After her retirement, she continued to work as a truant officer for PSJ (San Juan, TX) in the Rio Grande Valley and as a travel agent. Rose was involved in Centro Hispano and UMOS. She was a long time life member of East Madison Baptist Church, loved her choir and was involved with the messiah for years, she also was devoted to Grace Baptist Church in Madison. Roses voice and her beautiful, funny spirit will be missed by family and her many friends. But most of all by her loving daughter who was her very best friend and her angel. A memorial service will be held at EAST MADISON BAPTIST CHURCH, 4917 Milwaukee St., Madison, on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, beginning at 4 p.m.
