MADISON – Sister, Mother and Grandmother, Rose A. Martinson, a collector, wonderfully curious, helpful, guiding, nurturing and thoughtful woman, passed away on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 at University Hospital in Madison. She was born Nov. 29, 1949 in Madison, the daughter of Norman and Rose M. (Rau) Martinson. She attended Madison East High School, class of 1967. Rose worked in several skilled trades in her lifetime, including obtaining her CNA License as well as her CDL, ending her career as a school bus driver for Badger Bus. Rose is survived by her daughter, Amy (Todd Hanmer) Bentheimer, of Madison; a son, Roger (Tracy) Bentheimer, of Louisville, Texas; three grandchildren, Amber, Ashley and Anthony Hanmer; two sisters, Kaia Martinson, of Sun Prairie and Millie O’Neill, of Madison; brother-in-law, Don Jones, of Madison; her former husband, Dennis (Sherry) Bentheimer, of Cottage Grove; and several nieces and nephews, including her special niece Jenny Peterson and nephew Chris O’Neill. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Clare Jones; and a brother, Norman Martinson. Services will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Rd., Madison on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at 4 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Rose’s name to the Henry Vilas Zoo.
