MADISON – Ronald Arthur Thomas, age 41 passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg on Sunday, January 20, 2008. Ron was born to Arthur Thomas, Sr. and Juanita (Humphrey) Thomas on June 24, 1966, in Toronto, Canada. He moved to Wisconsin with his family in 1967, where he spent the majority of his life. He attended schools in Pardeeville and Madison, graduating from Madison West High School in 1984. Ron pursued several careers and chose his passion as a personal fitness trainer in Chicago. Ron was a great athlete who participated in many sports, including basketball and football. He was also an avid body builder, who successfully competed in several body building competitions throughout the U.S. and Canada. Other pursuits included acting and modeling. Ron loved to play his guitar and was an avid Prince fan, attending seven live concerts. He is survived by his daughter, Lynnae (Michael Evans) Thomas; grandson, Michael Evans, Jr.; his amazing fiancée, Grace Roh; mother, Juanita Humphrey; five sisters, Raven (Bob) Fox, Paula (George) Pillow, Lisa Dyer, Rita Adair, Valarie (Richard) Vincent; a brother, Arthur (Karen) Thomas, Jr. He is further survived by many loving nephews, Christopher, Tyrone, Joel, Kenneth, Marcus, Arthur, III, Dominic, Richie, and nieces, Tamu, Raven, Asha, Charice, and Brandi; as well as several great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and close friends. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Arthur “Sailor” Thomas, Sr. Funeral services will be held at the MADISON PENTECOSTAL ASSEMBLY, 5109 Buckeye Road, on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Bishop Eugene Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Pardeeville Cemetery on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Ron would have appreciated any donations to be made to any cancer research foundation. The family would like to thank the Saints at MPA, for their prayers and support, the staff at Red Sage Health Clinic, and the incredible staff at the HospiceCare Center, for their amazing care, support and many hugs, that were shown to our Ronnie, but also to our family. “You will always be our baby!”
