LODI/SAUK CITY - Robert (Bob) A. Wideen, age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Maplewood Nursing Home. He was born October 22, 1930 in Madison, the son of Edwin and Anna (Beckner) Wideen. Bob was married to Bernadine Baker on June 9, 1956 in Madison. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1951-53 in Germany. He worked at Widen Enterprises for 32 years. Bob retired from Four Lakes Colorgraphics in 1993. He and his family lived in Stoughton from 1968-1976. They moved to Verona in 1976 and lived there until 2005, when they moved to the Lake Wisconsin area. They also owned the Boscobel Bowling Alley from 1972-77. Bob excelled at remodeling, building and doing home improvements. He used his considerable skills in the homes and cottages he and his family enjoyed during his life. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and spending time with his family. Bob is survived by his wife, Bernie; four children, James (Pam) Wideen and granddaughter Tessa of Tavares, Fla., Gerald Wideen of Poynette and granddaughter Lacy of Stoughton, Karen (Stephen Wing) Wideen of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Stephen (Sheri) Wideen, grandchildren Tanner and Lauren of Prairie du Sac, and sister, Annabelle Underwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jane Roser and Dorothy Foreyt and one brother, Renald Wideen. A special thank you to the staff at Maplewood Nursing Home for their loving care of Bob. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Glenwood Moravian Community Church or in Bob’s name to the American Stroke Association (http://www.strokeassociation.org/). A service will be held at the Glenwood Moravian Community Church, 725 Gilmore St., Madison on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Bob’s life on May 25 from 3:00 to 5:00 at the West Side Club, 437 County Hwy M, back of Menard’s west Madison.
