Robert L. Kinney

MADISON - Robert L. Kinney, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Meriter Hospital following a brief illness. He was born March 3, 1925 in Kansas, the son of E. Roy and Eulalie (Stephens) Kinney. Following high school, Bob entered the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served. He married Beatrice Scheel on Nov. 22, 1945. Bob worked for several years at Ohio Chemical Co. and later retired from U.S. Forest Products. Bob is survived by two children, Gloria (Daryl) Bowen of Cambridge and Dennis Kinney of Madison; a grandson, Eric Bowen; two sisters, Mary Lou Shaver of Texas and Roberta "Bunny" Vanderzee of California; a sister-in-law, Nancy Nesheim of DeForest; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Bea; a son, Larry; parents; three brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be held at ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2126 N. Sherman Ave., Madison on Monday, May 13, 2013 beginning at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona.
