Robert Kenneth Aberg

MADISON Robert Kenneth Aberg, age 84, died at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth on Thursday, November 20, 2014, after a long illness. He was born on October 11, 1930. After graduating from Wisconsin High School, Robert married Beverly Ann Rang on May 1, 1951. They later had two children, William and Cynthia. He served in the military as a Staff Sergeant for the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin in 1956, graduating with honors. He received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1959, and was Editor of the Wisconsin Law Review. He served as a Trustee of the Village of Shorewood Hills from 1954 to 1956 and President of the Village of Shorewood Hills from 1957 to 1959. After law school, he was admitted to practice in all Wisconsin courts, Federal Circuit court, 7th Federal Appeals court, and U.S. Supreme court and became a partner in the law firm of Aberg, Bell, Blake and Metzner. In 1976, he joined with attorney Arthur Jorgensen to form the law firm Aberg & Jorgensen. Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed the outdoors, including nature photography and gardening. He also enjoyed spending summers on Espanore Island in Lake Huron in Michigans Upper Peninsula. Bob is survived by his wife, Beverly Aberg of Madison; his daughter, Cynthia of Madison; his grandchildren, Kristen Bolles of Madison and Paul Holzbauer of Madison; his great granddaughter, Ashlyn Madrigal of Madison; his sister, Sarah Williams of McAllen, Texas; and three nephews, John Williams, James Williams, and David Williams. Bob was preceded in death by his son, William. His family will miss him dearly and wish to express their thanks to Agrace HospiceCare and Heartland Country Village for the wonderful care they provided to Bob and his family in the last months of his life. Per Bobs wishes, a private family service is planned. Memorials in memory of Bob may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway Madison, WI 53711. Every soul leaves a legacy of love.
