MADISON - Robert H. Lewis, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the Agrace HospiceCare Center. He was born in Muskegon, Mich., on May 18, 1931, the son of Leslie and Henrieta (Dobb) Lewis. Following high school graduation in Muskegon, Bob joined the U.S. Air Force as a Russian linguist. Upon completion of his Master's degree from the University of Michigan, he became a Russian history professor for two years at Greensboro College in North Carolina. Bob was almost a Bridge Master, being only short by the points he could gain at a national bridge tournament. He was an expert at movies, and catalogued actors who played whom in which movie over the years. He came close to picking all the Oscar winners in some years. Bob is survived by a brother, Charles (Ellen) Lewis of Muskegon, Mich.; and a brother-in-law, Don (Rosemary) Swier of Ludington, Mich. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, friends and fellow Bridge players. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Marilyn Swier. A memorial gathering will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Road, Madison on Monday, July 21, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. concluding with military honors at 3:45 p.m.
