Robert C. Sixel

Robert C. Sixel, age 83 of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in Chippewa Falls on June 4, 1924 to Peter and Selma (nee Stertz) Sixel and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1942. Bob was employed by the Soo Line Railroad before entering the Army Air Force during WWII. He served in Puerto Rico, Okinawa and Shanghai, China. Upon his discharge, he returned to the Soo Line, from which he retired after forty-two years. On June 4, 1949, Bob was united in marriage to Betty Lou Wiseman at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. He was also self-employed as a tax accountant, represented the Laundry Workers Union Local as their business agent and was the secretary of the Polar Bowling League for many years. Survivors include his wife Betty; three sons, Michael (Pat), Peter, and Jeffrey (Vicky) all of Eau Claire; one daughter, Nancy Sixel of River Falls, WI; one grand-daughter, Marie Sixel and one grand-son, William Sixel both of Eau Claire; and one sister, Marie Henderson of Chippewa Falls. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Kenneth; and a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Bruce Novak. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 7:00 PM at Plombon’s All Faiths Funeral & Cremation Service, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire. Friends and relatives may call from 5:00 PM until the time of services. Interment will be held at a later date in Bloomer South Catholic Cemetery.
