FONTANA – Robert A. Zitzler, age 76 of Fontana, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 at the Don & Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. He was born on Feb. 3, 1930 in Chicago, the son of William and Elsie (Mann) Zitzler. He married Jean Wendell on April 21, 1951 in Chicago. Robert was a Navy Veteran. Following his years as salesman for a local Cadillac dealership, Robert retired as a sales executive with NBC. Robert’s hobbies included power boating and sailing with family, kayaking, and road biking. He enjoyed volunteering with Hospice in Lake Geneva and Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. Robert was a member of the Fontana Community Church. He is survived by his wife Jean, Fontana; a daughter, Diane (Charles) Palma, Fontana; two sons, William (Julie) Zitzler, Mukwonago, and Edward (Ellen) Zitzler, Walworth; nine grandchildren, Kristin, Matthew, and Nikki Palma; Brian, Danielle and Michael Zitzler; John, Sarah, and Grace Zitzler; and one great-grandchild, Gage Lee. Private family services will be held.
