Robert A. Peterson

JANESVILLE Robert Alvin Peterson, Jr., age 52 of Janesville, lost his battle with cancer on Friday, July 1, 2016. He was born in Janesville on May 18, 1964, the son of Louise Peterson. He was a proud 1982 graduate of Parker High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp., where he proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1989. He married Rebecca Morrison on May 6, 1995, and although they would later divorce, they remained close friends while raising their two boys, Cody and Garret. Bob was a volunteer softball coach for the Janesville Boys Scouts for 10 years, and most recently received Coach of the Year honors. He was a fan of the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. Bob also supported his nieces and nephews in their various sporting events. He enjoyed campfires and cookouts with family and friends, and was notorious for his holiday decorations. Bob is survived by his two sons, Cody and Garret; Rebecca Morrison; siblings, Donald, Mike (Kris), Pattie (Bob) Meyer, Gloria Dutcher, Susie and Tony (Barb) Peterson; brother-in-law, Mike Stelter; his other brother, Jerry Lewis; special friends, Roger Sepin, Sean Mullen, Ken Sexe, Keith and Michelle Dewey; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom and a sister, Barby Stelter. Private graveside services with military honors will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville. A Celebration of Bobs Life will begin at Noon on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the PAVILLION at PEACE PARK in Janesville.
