Rita F. Williams

Rita Frances Williams was born to Mrs. Frances T. Williams and Mr. Robert Earl Williams on March 12, 1953 at John Gaston Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the youngest of three siblings. When Rita was a child, her family moved from Tennessee to Chicago, and during that time she attended O’Keefe Elementary School and then graduated from South Shore High School. After Rita graduated from high school, she went on to attend Malcolm X College. She later attended John Robert Powell Modeling School and also was a sous chef at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago. Later both mother and daughter moved from Chicago to Englewood, California, where she worked for a law firm and also did some modeling on the side. After saving up enough money, she became the proud owner of her own catering service called Party People Productions. She would eventually close her business and move back to Chicago to be with her family where she also prospered. Upon retiring, Rita would eventually move to Madison, Wis. to be with her daughter and grandkids. Rita was laid to rest on April 26, 2012, surrounded by family. Rita looked forward to life itself with her family and friends. She leaves behind her mother, Frances; her sister, Sheila; and loving daughter, Angelique. Her father, Robert Earl Williams, and brother, Eric Williams, preceded her in death. Rita was blessed with a son-in-law, Andre J. Skipper; three grandchildren, Brittany, Andre Jr., and Corey; a great-grandchild, Bridgette; brother-in-law, Eligin Ward; two step-sons, Brandon (Jennifer) Odum (three children), and Bryon (deceased), (two children); a life-long companion, Waverly Burns; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces cousins and loving friends. We will cherish and love her always. A memorial service celebrating Rita's life will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Rd., Madison on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
