MADISON – Richard J. Frank, age 62 of Madison, passed away unexpectedly at University Hospital in Madison on Thursday, October 17, 2024. He was born in Madison on June 27, 1962, the son of Jerold and Esther (Adank) Frank.
As a teenager, Rick was in a terrible motorcycle accident that left him in a coma. He beat the odds and miraculously emerged from the coma after 3 months. Although the accident left him disabled, Rick lived his best life. He worked at Don’s Bar in Watertown for 23 years and made many friends. After that, he retired and lived with Mom and Dad until their passing, then moving in with his brother Bob. He enjoyed family get-togethers and cookouts. His latest hobby was gambling at Dejope Casino, which he did almost every day, setting himself a limit of only $5.
Rick is survived by his five brothers (and their wives), Tony (Arlene) Frank, Bob Frank, Don Frank, Phil (Michelle) Frank, and Dan (Stacy) Frank, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life party will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024, at BB JACKS, 300 E. Holum St., De Forest. Private inurnment will be next to his parents in Resurrection Cemetery, Madison.
