MILTON - Richard H. “Dick” Hagar, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born January 30, 1937 in Janesville the son of Harold and Emma (Sommerfelt) Hagar. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a boiler technician aboard the U.S.S. New Jersey, and later the U.S.S. Boston. He married Roberta Grant on May 7, 1960 at St. Pat’s in Janesville. He worked for Janesville Sand and Gravel and later went into over the road truck driving. As a young man, Dick loved to work on cars, building several hot rods over the years. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, NASCAR, hunting and fishing, and enjoyed spending time with family. Dick is survived by his wife Roberta; three sons, Rick and Joe of Milton, and Don (Fei Yan), of Beloit; two grandsons, Christopher Hagar, of Tennessee, and Peter Zhou, Beloit; a brother, James (Kathleen) Hagar, Janesville; two sisters, Judy (Bennie) Leitel and Beverly Hagar all of Janesville; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold, Jr. and David; and a sister, Barb. Funeral services will be held at the ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1618 E. Racine St., Janesville on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006 at noon. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from10 a.m. until the time of service. “…you traveled all the highways, you sailed the seven sea’s. Now you’re on the big highway, keep on truck’n. We love and miss you very much.” Ma and the boys.
