Richard (Dick) F. Churchill, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 24, 2014. Dick was born at home on February 25, 1930 to James and Ruth (Gray) Churchill and lived his entire life in Janesville. He attended Janesville schools through the 1940s. Dick married Wanda Waller on October 21, 1951 and together they had three sons: David (Sally Reed), Frank (Charlene Sandley), and James (Glenda Waite). Wanda preceded him in death on June 4, 1969. He married Marlene Schult Wilcox on June 26, 1971 and with her, had another son, Charles (Kim Hartel). Dick, along with his father established Churchill Sand and Gravel in 1958. He became the sole proprietor, and was the owner/operator for over 50 years. He was also a LaPrairie dairy farmer who was well known for walking the cows to and from the pasture on Sharon Road daily. Dick had many animals throughout his life that were dearly loved, most recently Callie and Ramsey. He enjoyed hunting, dancing, flea markets and auctions. This past February Dick was able to enjoy a special 84th surprise birthday party with his family and friends. Dick is survived by his wife Marlene, his children and step-son, Dan Wilcox (Rich Fletcher), as well as his eight grandchildren: Richard James, Wanda Austin (Jon), Marie, Joshua (Sarah), Aaron, William, Clayton and Connor and great-grandchild, Chloe. He is further survived by his brother Bruce (Carol) and sister-in-law, Norlene. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda, son Frank and brother James. A visitation will be held on August 28, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at ALL FAITHS Funeral Home, 1618 E. Racine St., Janesville, Wisconsin.
