MADISON – Peter F. Dushek, age 52 of Madison, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2008 at LifeCare Hospitals in Pewaukee, following a long illness. He was born Sept. 14, 1955 in Madison, the son of Donald and Lorraine (Nilles) Dushek. Pete graduated from Madison LaFollette High School. He worked as a machinist for 26 years with the Dane County Highway Department. He married Susan Totten on July 18, 1997 in Madison. Pete loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, bowling but most of all spending time with his children, grandchildren and his dogs, Fritz and Walker. Pete had a generous and loving soul. Helping others gave him great pleasure. He grinned from ear to ear just to be asked. His mother-in-law said he could fix anything except a broken heart or a run in a pair of panty hose. All those who knew Pete have been touched by his bright and positive outlook. Though faced with a grave illness, he never lost sight of his goal, which was to go home to his family. To our sadness, he did not reach his goal. He is now in a safe and special place with his mother and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Susan, of Madison; daughters, Carsin Dushek, of Madison, Astyne Dushek, of Chester, Mass.; and step-children, Amy Mathison, Erin Triller and Josh Triller, all of Madison; grandchildren, Shaina Triller, Jazmine Triller, Jordyn Mathison and Chessa Dushek, all of Madison; father, Donald E. Dushek, of Madison; sisters, Regina (Keith) Krull, of Cambridge and Mary Klinzing, of Madison; a brother, Steven (Laurie) Dushek, of Madison; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Pete was preceded in death by his mother. A memorial mass will be held at ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1128 St. James Court, on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Thomas Baxter officiating. Following the service, a luncheon will be held in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family. A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Meriter Hospital, Select Specialty Hospital and LifeCare Hospital of Pewaukee for their dedication and compassion during Peter's illness. GO GREEN BAY!!!
