Patricia Marie August-Slawnikowski

EAU CLAIRE/MILTON Patricia M. August-Slawnikowski, age 76, formerly of Milton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Care Partners Assisted Living in Altoona, Wis. She was born Sept. 9, 1941, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Bernice (Kracik) Drobick. She married Edward John August (Augustyniak) on May 8, 1965. She then married Stanley R. Slawnikowski on Sept. 5, 1987. Pat started her real estate career in 1977 with Realty World McCarthy Realty. She then associated with Wauwatosa Realty before becoming the Managing Broker for E.R.A. Equitable/Stefaniak Realty in Janesville. Pats proudest career accomplishment was branching out and opening August Realty, Inc. in Janesville, which she owned and operated for over 22 years. She ended her career by merging her business with The Morse Company in 2010. Pats involvement in the REALTOR(r) community included being President of the Janesville Board of REALTOR(r) (1988-1989). She served over 10 years as the chairman of the Membership committee and the Professional Standards committee, plus she served on numerous other committees. She was recognized as REALTOR(r) of the Year in 1989 and won numerous awards for her exceptional leadership throughout her career. Pat was a long-time Milton resident and an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Milton. Pats passions included helping people find the right home and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patricia is survived by her three sons, Edward (Jill Chapman) August, of Eau Claire, James (Tom Nelson) August, of Westchester, Ill., and Robert (Samantha) August, of Janesville, as well as her former daughter-in-law, Trisha Neuser, of Eau Claire. She is also survived by her five grandchildren; Sarah (Nathan) Stafford, Jeffrey (Lacey Wells) August, Tyler August, Carter Chapman and Allison August; and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Nolan Stafford. She was preceded in death by her first husband Edward August in 1984, her second husband, Stanley in 2010, and her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Dave Timmerman presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Milton. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
