Patricia L. Slattery

MADISON – Patricia L. Slattery, age 81 of Madison, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Meriter Hospital following a long illness. Pat was born Feb. 3, 1928 in Madison, the daughter of Peter and Gladys Slattery. She attended St. James Grade School and graduated from Madison West High School. Pat worked for over 40 years unitl her retirement in 1982 from the telephone company in Madison. She enjoyed crocheting hats for the newborns at Meriter Hospital, and over the years made well over 5,000 hats. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and the Pioneer’s. Pat is survived by a sister, Kathryn Briggs, of Madison; her brother, Kenneth (Joanne) Slattery, of Sauk City; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Slattery, of Madison; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James and brother-in-law Glenn Briggs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Michael Burke officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Private burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Madison.
