MADISON – Nora V. Ringstad, of Madison, passed away at her home with her family by her side, on Thursday, March 11, 2010 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Chicago the daughter of Robert and Erna (Kerstein) Williams, Nora moved to Madison in 1954. She was well known throughout the Madison area for her years of waitressing at Hoffman House and Smoky’s Club for 30 years. Nora loved to garden, play games and visit Ho-Chunk. She is survived by her eight children; Donald Larson, of Witcha Falls, TX, Sandra Hendrix, of Crescent City, Fl., Patricia (John) Popp, of Milwaukee, Gerald (Jane) Larson, of Germantown, Susan (Cary) Graf, of Madison, Debra (Jay) Jones, of Milwaukee, Carol (Dale) Schroeder, of Wittenburg, Becky (Kevin) Frome, of Florence, Wis., and her loving dog, Snicklefritz; three sisters, Elsie (Ralph) Bruhn, of Chicago, Evelyn (Roel) Pratt, of Netherlands, and Dauphine (Daryl) Harris, of Denver; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, to numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, LaVerne Ringstad; her parents; a brother, Robert, Jr., and a grandson, Paul Larson. Funeral services will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Rd., Madison, on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 4 p.m. with Rev. John Swanson officiating with private burial next to her husband in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nora’s name to HospiceCare, Inc.
