MADISON - Nettie Rayman Rubin died peacefully on Sat., Sept. 9, 2006 at University Hospital in Madison, Wis. of a recently discovered cancer. Born in Chicago, IL on Oct. 15, 1919, she lived most of her life in Washington, D.C. before retiring with her beloved husband Abe, to Florida, and then moving to Madison, Wis. recently to be near her son, Larry Rubin and his family. She was a very giving woman and it was said of her "no one ever left her house hungry." She cared deeply for all her family, whether or not related by blood. She is survived by her loving son, Larry Rubin; three daughters: Marsha, Marlene, and Ruth, and their families. A memorial service will be held in the COMMUNITY ROOM at OAKWOOD VILLAGE WEST, 6225 Mineral Point Rd., on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 5 P.M. A graveside ceremony will be held at the King David Cemetery, Falls Church, Virginia, on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Nettie's name be made to the Oakwood Foundation, 6201 Mineral Point Road, Madison, WI 53705; or a charity of one’s choosing.
