Neil R. Madorin (1938-2008) Neil Ronald Madorin, 69, of Janesville, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. He was born on July 29, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Bernard S. and Lucylle (Hecht) Madorin. Neil was baptized on July 29, 1973 and committed his life to serving in lay ministry roles in the ELCA church. He married his best friend and soul mate, Cordy (Gotoski) on February 29, 1976, in Manchester, Missouri. As an expert in the millwork industry, Neil directed national sales teams for several national leaders in construction manufacturing. An Eagle Scout, Neil spent his entire adult life giving back to his community through his volunteer efforts through his church, Boy Scouts, and other service organizations. In 2007, Neil was awarded the Lamb Award, the highest volunteer recognition from the Boy Scouts for a person’s volunteer service through the Lutheran Church. Neil and his wife retired to Janesville in 2001 to live closer to their two children, Kurt Saterbak and Julie (Saterbak) McNulty, and their families. Neil continued in his community service by assisting the reading programs at Harmony Elementary School in Milton, and the Hedberg Public Library in Janesville. Neil is survived by his wife, Cordy, two sons: Kurt Saterbak, Janesville, and Harry Madorin, Chicago, three daughters: Julie (Saterbak) McNulty, Madison, Carrie (Madorin) and Lisa (Madorin); his special Aunt Lucille Sirk and cousins Cindy Mikel and Randy Sirk; and siblings Mark, Miles and Mindy. He was also proud of his four grandchildren: Christopher and Patrick McNulty and Andie and Arika Saterbak. As he touched the hearts of so many, he will be deeply missed by friends and family from across the country. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2008 with special video celebration at 7:00 pm, at the All Faiths Funeral Home, 1618 E Racine St. Janesville. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 25 at 1:00PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 700 N Wright Rd, with reception following, Committal services will be held at 3:30 pm at Bethel Cemetery on Cty Rd A. Neil's family would like to thank all the caregivers at Mercy Hospital for their compassionate attention during his last months. Neil will be greatly missed by his family, but we celebrate the promise of eternal life through his faith in Jesus Christ.
