MONTELLO / MOUNTAIN HOME, ARKANSAS. - Mida E. Bowers passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena. She was born on Oct. 8, 1930, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Marshall and Dollie (Roth) Ellis, and attended Mineral Point High School. On June 23, 1955, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert E. Bowers. Mida was a very hard working and independent woman with a strong will. But more importantly, she was a very loving, thoughtful and attentive wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always tried to guide her family in the right direction (hers). Mida was a very curious woman who enjoyed being outdoors with nature, especially tending to her flowers. She loved birds of all kinds and even raised many, including cockatiels. She was also a very talented artist who operated a store in Mountain Home, Arkansas, where she also taught acrylic painting classes for many years. One of her greatest passions was going to any auction, garage sale, or estate sales she saw or heard about. Neither rain, sleet nor snow could keep her away. She loved bartering and getting a really good deal (whether she needed it or not). Mida also loved singing, music and dancing with her favorite partner, her husband, Bob. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband, Robert Bowers of Montello; three daughters, Peggy (Charlie) Carlson of Tamarac, Fla., Dolly (Michael) Plunkett of Racine, and Jodi (Rob) Igl of Oregon; two sons, John (Donna) Bowers of Montello, and Joel Bowers of Cambridge; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at WEST KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH, located at 1911 Koshkonong Road, Stoughton. Pastor Dowling will be presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave, 7th floor, New York, NY 10001. Mida's family wishes to thank the staff at Columbia Health Care Center for their loving and professional care throughout this difficult time.
