Michael William Buchholz

Michael William Buchholz, age 59, of Middleton, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Mike was born in Storm Lake, Iowa on October 30, 1950, the third of four children of Aaron and Arlene (Morse) Buchholz. Mike graduated from Albert City Truesdale High School in 1968. Michael married Rosemary Gustafson on July 12, 1970. He graduated from Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota in 1973 with a degree in Accounting. After college, Michael worked for the Milwaukee Railroad in Chicago, Illinois. He enjoyed all aspects of business and owned his own businesses in Colorado and Wisconsin. He was a very gifted musician and played bass guitar for the Notorious Noblemen during his high school years. He loved working with the soil and planning for the coming gardening season. Michael had a long, valiant struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. His strong faith enabled him to get through many difficult years. He taught us how to persevere, think of others first, and how to accept love. His quick wit was a constant source of joy to everyone around him. He was very proud of his children, Eric and Rachel, and loved them dearly. Mike is survived by his wife, Rosemary, and their children, Eric (Nikki) Buchholz of Madison and Rachel Buchholz of Middleton. He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron; his brother, Richard, and his two daughters, Erin and Michelle. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009 in the chapel of Christ Presbyterian Church, 944 E Gorham, Madison, Wisconsin.
