Michael J. Tidmarsh

CROSS PLAINS - Michael J. Tidmarsh, age 70, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 31, 2014. He was born December 9, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI to Thomas P. Tidmarsh and Winnifred (Smith) Tidmarsh. Michael was known by many as Turkey or Top Turk. Over his lifetime, he had resided many cities in Wisconsin, Florida, Massachusetts and Illinois. He took great pride in being a pilot, worked as an EMT, worked in a shipyard in Marthas Vineyard and spent many years as a carpenter. He enjoyed music and sailing and was a voracious reader. He was a true pirate at heart, and enjoyed quoting pirate limericks and song lyrics. Do what you want to, because you are going to anyway. Survivors include his ex-wife, Mary Heitel; long-time companion, Avis Ace; his two daughters, Theresa (Chad) Kruger and Kristen (Jay) Tidmarsh-Araujo; his two grandsons, Trey and Devin Araujo; and many friends. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving dog Cajun. At Michaels request private visitation for family was held at All Faiths Funeral in Madison. Memorials can be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
