MADISON – Michael C. DeLapp, age 76, passed away peacefully at Prairie Ridge Health in Columbus on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, with his two sons by his side. Mike was born in Lake Geneva on Jan. 1, 1945, the son of Donald and Ethel (Tibbitts) DeLapp. The family moved to Mauston in 1950 where Mike went on to graduate from high School in 1963. Mike married his high school sweetheart, Betty Emery on Dec. 12, 1966. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969, spending 1967 to 1968 in country in Vietnam. Mike retired from the State of Wisconsin and was a Computer Technical Specialist. Following his retirement, Mike became a full time Blackhawk Bowhunters of Verona ambassador. Mike is survived by his two sons, Chris (Jennifer) of Pardeeville and Brian (Tonya) of DeForest; four grandchildren, Katie, Josie, Kayla and Brice; and a brother, Jeff (Peg) DeLapp of Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty on May 7, 2014; his parents; and a brother, Gregg DeLapp. Per Mike’s wishes, no services will be held. The family would like to thank the ER staff and Med-Surg staff at Prairie Ridge Health for their compassion and care. They also would like to thank the staff at Randolph Health Services for helping make Mike feel at home the past two years, a special thanks to Harriet for all you did for Mike.
