Michael A. Langan

MADISON - Michael Langan, age 77, of Madison, WI died at the Agrace HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg, on January 6, 2025, due to dementia. He was born on August 30, 1947, in O’Neill, Nebraska, to the late, Joseph and Rosemary Langan.

Michael served as a computer programmer in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, including a year in Vietnam. Upon retirement from the Navy, he worked in computer programming for 15 years at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital IMR Department.

Michael leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Diane; stepson, Miguel (Mindy) Cardenas of New Mexico; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Michael is also survived by sisters, Donna Millie of Nebraska, Jan Langan of Colorado, Nell Vander Schaaf of Wisconsin, Molly Erickson of Colorado, and Beanie Langan Smith of Colorado; brothers, Tim Langan of Utah, Patrick Langan of Nebraska and Erich Langan of Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Joseph (Doke) and John Langan.

We owe many thanks to the staff and caregivers at All Saints Memory Care, Madison; St Mary’s Hospital, Madison; and Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg for the loving care provided to Michael.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s honor to Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg, Wis.

Per Michael’s wishes, no services will be held.
