Michael A. Fox

Michael A. Fox, 59, passed away on June 30, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born to Harry and Louise Fox on November 21, 1955 in Chicago. When he was a child, his family moved to Edgerton and later he moved to Janesville, where he was a long-time resident. In 1973, Michael enlisted in the Marine Corps. After completing that adventure, he spent most of his life as a machinist. He worked to become a 5th Degree Black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and went on to direct his own Tae Kwon Do school for a few years in Janesville. Then he continued teaching classes at the YMCA for many years. Most recently, he took on the role of top long haul custom critical truck driver for FedEx. This afforded him the opportunity to travel across the country, which was one of his favorite things. Michael showed his strength in his passing, just as he did in life. He was respected and loved by so many. No matter what his role was, he gave it his all; anyone that knew him saw that. He touched countless lives, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Fox; daughters, Crystal (Adam Root) Fox and Angela (Adam) Elmer; stepdaughter, Anna Johnson; his brother, Butch (Debbie) Fox; sisters, Caryl (John) Flodeen, Marge (William) Pulcine, and Joyce (Ted) White. He is further survived by his beloved grandchildren, River, Hadleigh, Harper, Angelina, and Madison. Michael is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Fox. A Celebration of Life and open house will be held Sunday, July 12, 2015, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Janesville VFW, 1015 Center Ave. Flowers may be sent to the VFW any time after 10:30 a.m. that day.
