Matthew Mark Meyer

Matthew Mark Meyer, son of Sandra (née Centner) and Mark Meyer, passed away peacefully February 14, 2025 in hospice care near his home in Fitchburg, WI. Matt leaves behind his loving wife Rebecca Cotteleer, sisters Stephanie Bonham and Melissa Mowery, brothers-in-law Mike Bonham and Andy Mowery, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and in-laws. 

Though Matt was only 40 at the time of his passing, he knew how short time could be due to his battle with cancer and accomplished most of his goals over the past four years. He built a garden capable of supporting a large family and filled the yard with native flowers for pollinators. He rescued kittens and was loved by cats. He found his best friend and spent the rest of his life with her. He sat in the sun on an empty beach and sipped drinks with little umbrellas in them. 

Matt’s directness and playful contrarian nature will be missed by all who loved him. He wanted his journey to bring some good into the world by promoting awareness of the importance of early intervention for common cancers and encouraging those around him to get screened. Matt never wanted a funeral, but a celebration of life will be held in early summer for family and friends.
