Mary Jo Wilpolt

Mary Jo Wilpolt, 68, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025. She was born on March 20, 1957 in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin to Gene and Martha Wilpolt.

Mary Jo is survived by her grandchildren; Jade, Mason, Aaron (AJ) and Ethan. Her Children Zachary and Sarah, her siblings; Karen Molay, Thomas Wilpolt, Barb (Dan) Rottiger, her beloved brother Jim Wilpolt, who has helped her through the years, her father Gene Wilpolt (Joyce Herwig), and close friend and caregiver Elizabeth Wyss.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Wilpolt.

Mary Jo loved gardening, growing wildflowers and enjoying lilacs. She loved being in nature and caring for animals, it didn’t matter if they were her own or wild life she loved caring for them all. Children always brought Mary Jo happiness, from having home day care when her own children were little, to her grandkids, to interacting with neighbor’s children. They always brought a smile to her face. Mary Jo cared about and loved everyone she crossed paths with. Her kind, caring spirit will be greatly missed.

Mary Jo’s family would like to thank Elizabeth Wyss for her continued support she gave to her.
They would also like to thank Baraboo Hospice House for the comforting care that they gave Mary Jo in her final weeks.

Per Mary Jo’s wishes no services will be held. Memorials may be made in Mary Jo’s name to Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin or to SSM Health Hospice House in Baraboo.
