Marvin Leroy Buckingham

Marvin L. Buckingham 73 received his wings on November 22, 2024. Born on August 9, 1951 - Marvin was the oldest of 10 children, born to Donald and Patricia Buckingham. He attended grade school in Ridgeway, Wisconsin and graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1969. After graduation, Marvin joined the Air Force in October of 1971, going to Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas. He served in Iceland, England, and Thailand as a weapons mechanic. When Marvin returned to the states, he was honorably discharged in July of 1975.

When Marvin wasn't working, he enjoyed photography, riding his bike, making puzzles into pictures, collecting tapestries, playing cards and spending time with family. He made many trips to Colorado where he enjoyed exploring, and visiting his sister, Kathy.

Marvin is survived by six sisters, Donna Andrews, Nancy (Mark) Anderson, Kathy Engler, Gloria (Dave) Holz, Linda (Larry) O'Kroley, Janice Buckingham and three brothers, David (Kelly) Buckingham, Danny Buckingham, and Philip (Melanie) Buckingham. He is further survived by an Uncle, William Butteris as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Patricia Buckingham, his grandparents, Clinton L and Beulah Buckingham, and Milton and Esther Butteris. Aunts, Mary King and Judy Shepherd and Uncles, Glenn Butteris and Gary Butteris.

Per Marvin's request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family is grateful for the health services that the VA doctors and hospital provided to him over the last several years. We would like to thank the staff at Nazareth health and Rehabilitation Center for the care and kindness they showed our brother.
