WISCONSIN DELLS - Heaven was having a little extra fun Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, when Marlene Johnson entered the gates. Marlene was famous for her nicknames, old wives tales, strong Finnish accent, saying exactly what was on her mind, hard work ethic and her contagious smile. Born in Maple, Wis., on June 29, 1944, Marlene was one of eight children to Ailien (Tykilla) and Waino Colby. Marlene married Marvin Johnson July 11, 1964. She worked at various places over the years but retired from Ho-Chunk Casino as a housekeeping supervisor. Marlene is survived by her children, Charlotte (Kevin) Eggers, Bruce (Nola), Ken (Teresa), Wanda (Kurt) Belshaw, Randy and Josh (Tirea) Bergendal; 11 grandchildren; siblings, Marvin (Liz) Colby and Sharon Erickson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Raymond and Arnie Colby; sisters, Delores Granlund, Lorraine Mikkola; and twin sister, Arlene Salomaki. A celebration of life will be held in Sun Prairie Feb. 25, 2017 with her inurnment service held in Maple Wisconsin June 2017.
