MADISON - Marion Kay Kendall of Madison passed away peacefully surrounded by her close relatives on February 26, 2010. Born in Madison, on Nov 30, 1939 to William and Alice (Krug) Kendall, she was preceded in death by her mother, father, and one brother. She is survived by her sister, Lynn Kendall of Madison, and her brother Doug (Gloria) Kendall of Fitchburg; plus numerous cousins, a niece, grand nephews, and friends. Kay spent most of her life in the Madison area. She was a social worker for the State of Wisconsin, Dept. of Corrections, Probation and Parole Section. Aside from a year working in the same profession in Alaska, she spent her entire career with the Dept. of Corrections. She was led to that profession by the influence of her grandfather who was a law enforcement officer. Kay had many interests outside of work. They included gardening, her dogs, travel, and music. She was keenly interested in classical music and played with a local recorder group for many years. Kay attended many music venues throughout the area. She did a stint as a part time disc jockey for radio station WORT. In her retirement, she volunteered to be a facilitator tutoring English as a second language to foreigners in the Madison area. In her last days Kay enthusiastically gave her heart to Jesus. A celebration of her life will be held at LIVING WATER CHURCH, 3075 Prospect Dr., Sun Prairie on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to a charity of your choice.
